Joyce Kromwijk and Angela Melcherts received the M2i ‘Best applicable value’ poster prize and the MaterialsNL

We congratulate Joyce Kromwijk and Angela Melcherts on receiving the M2i ‘Best applicable value’ poster prize and the MaterialsNL 1st place poster award for their duo poster on producing aromatics from CO₂ waste streams.

Joyce and Angela presented their research at the Materials Innovation Institute (M2i) and MaterialsNL Platform conference, where they had the opportunity to pitch and showcase their work. Their PhD research focused on CO₂ hydrogenation to methane and the methane dehydroaromatization reaction. By integrating these two processes, they developed a novel approach to produce benzene from CO₂ via methane. The project was presented as a duo poster to highlight the collaborative efforts of the PhD candidates, along with contributions from students, supervisors, and technical staff.
