Chemisch 2 Weekblad (C2W | Mens & Molecule), the media brand of the Royal Dutch Chemical Society (KNCV), has recently published a special edition titled “Refinery of the Future“. This special edition is produced in collaboration with the Advanced Research Center Chemical Building Blocks Consortium (ARC CBBC).
The concept of “Refinery of the Future” was introduced by Eelco Vogt and Bert Weckhuysen in a paper published in Nature examining the viability of a completely fossil-free future refinery. This special edition of C2W explores the concept of the “Refinery of the Future” and tries to answer whether it would be possible to build a fully fossil-free refinery that could meet post-2050 demands by employing new feedstocks, new energy sources, and new processes.
This special edition of C2W appears to provide a comprehensive overview of the latest developments, research, and innovations in the ARC CBBC consortium, shaping the future of refineries and the chemical industry, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and technological advancement.
