PhD defense Thomas van Swieten: The design and application of luminescent thermometers: A closer look at biases and uncertainties

PhD student Thomas van Swieten defended on January 25 successfully his PhD thesis at Utrecht University. His PhD thesis focuses on the elucidation of the biases and uncertainties when using luminescence thermometry for accurately determining the local temperature in solid matter. This work was a cooperation with the section Condensed Matter and Interfaces of the Department of Chemistry with professor Andries Meijerink as 1st promotor and Freddy Rabouw as co-promotor.
