Ina Vollmer & Ward van der Stam received an NWO XS grant for curiosity-driven research

Ina Vollmer and Ward van der Stam (both ICC) have each received an NWO XS grant of 50.000 euro for curiosity-driven research into new ways to recycle plastic and CO2. Ina will use solid organometallic catalysts in an innovative ball mill to convert polyolefins. Ward will develop a unique combined X-ray diffraction and fluorescence setup to probe the structure (diffraction) and composition (fluorescence) of CO2 valorisation electrocatalysts at work. With these project, new insights into valorisation strategies for plastic and CO2 recycling will be gained.
