My research is part of a multilateral ARC CBBC project and investigates innovative approaches to bimetallic catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation to higher alcohols, with the aim of contributing to sustainable chemical processes and reducing carbon emissions. Specifically, PdCu-based catalysts will be explored to enhance C-C coupling and improve ethanol selectivity. The focus will be on understanding the nature of the active phase and the mechanisms involved in the formation of higher alcohols. By investigating the relationship between catalyst structure, reaction conditions, and performance, this project aims to unlock new insights that could lead to more efficient and selective catalytic processes.
