Utrecht University and East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST, Shanghai) have signed an agreement to establish a Joint Research Center (JRC) for Sustainable and Circular Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, aimed at initiating joint research projects and training future scientists in waste and carbon dioxide valorization. The partnership was formalized during a high-level visit to Utrecht on June 18 and 19, when an ECUST delegation led by President Professor Fuzhen Xuan met with Utrecht University leadership, including Rector Magnificus Professor Henk Kummeling and Dean Professor Isabel Arends. The delegation was hosted by Professor Bert Weckhuysen, who holds an honorary professorship at ECUST, and the research cooperation agreement was signed by ECUST President Professor Fuzhen Xuan and Utrecht University’s Faculty of Science Dean Professor Isabel Arends.
