Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are porous materials consisting of metal atoms or clusters coordinated to organic linkers forming 3D structures that can act both as supports and heterogeneous catalysts. Our goal is to understand their properties when used for such applications and the implications that lattice defects can have on them, by combining synthesis and catalytic testing with micro-spectroscopy (in-situ FT-IR, Raman, UV-vis and X-ray). This research is funded by the EU ITN Marie Curie program DEFNET (Nr. 641887).
