Solar energy is considered as the most promising candidate to address the energy and environmental issues. However, until now, there isn’t a truly viable candidate satisfies the quest for ideal photocatalyst that can efficiently harvest the full spectrum of sunlight and simultaneously drive the oxidation of water and reduction of H+ or CO2 to fuels. The project is aimed at exploring the photogenerated charge carrier (electron and hole) dynamics by using in-situ spectroscopic techniques and to aid the design of materials with high photoefficiency.
